Puppy Care

Ericakatie.jpg
Puppies leave here Happy, Healthy puppies, it's up to you to keep them that way.
When you take your puppy home, please keep them at home and away from other puppies (and Pet Smart) until they have their full series of shots.Contagious deceases are carried on people clothing and shoes. Puppies are not safe until all shots are given.
*We highly recomind taking you puppy to your vet within your 48 hour time frame.
*Make sure your puppy eats at least 3 small meals a day until they are at lest 6 months old. *Never let a small pup go without a meal!
*When house training, dont feed after 6 pm, puppies are just babies and are going to have mistakes. Take them out after sleeping, eating, and play. Dont play to hard before betime, puppies will get thirsty and drink lots of water making lots of pee!

Puppy Buying Tips
When shopping for puppies I do understand how hard it is and if you can trust this person or not. It has been my experience to look for some of these things when looking and not basing your search on price alone. Because the idea "the more you pay, the better the dog" is SOoo NOT TRUE!
When searching the web take a look at the site and *read everything about it. *Look at how many puppies that they have. *How many pages of pups are listed. If a site has page after page of puppies, those puppies are not handled everyday and loved. They could be puppy mill puppies! There is no humanly way possible someone can socialize that many dogs. They are treated like cattle! Their parents are environmentally screwed up. *Look closely at the pictures. Are they in cages? or out in the grass? Are the cages clean or covered in poo? You can usually tell when puppies are not happy or scared so that would mean they are not handled. Young puppies that are 1,2, 3 weeks old are going to have that nervous look because they have been with mom and are just now checking out the human thing so expect that in photo's. Look in the back ground of the photo's, is it dirty, is their more poop than puppy?
